Jermel grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from John Jay College, where he majored in criminal justice on the legal studies track. He also studied at, and received certification in Business and Finance from, Columbia University, School of Professional Studies. Following his undergraduate career, Jermel worked between New York and Boston gaining 10 years of experience working on large sophisticated transactions in law, banking, and real estate. As a 3L at Fordham University School of Law, Jermel serves on the Board of Student Advisors, where he plays a critical role in helping members of the incoming 1L class acclimate to the law school and its culture. He also serves as an Associate Editor of the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal (IPLJ). Additionally, Jermel serves as the National Bar Association Law Students Division (NBA LSD) Chair for the 2020-21 bar year.
